BREAKING: Bitcoin Climbs Toward $84,000 After Fed's Williams Sees No Rate Hikes in 2027 — Zcash Leads Gains

Bitcoin price news climbs toward $84,000 Fed Williams no 2027 rate hikes Zcash leads gains trading

Bitcoin climbed toward $84,000 in Wednesday Asian trading, rising about 1.5% to just under $83,900. The move came after New York Fed President John Williams said he sees no need for more rate hikes in 2027, a comment that weakened the dollar and lifted risk markets.

Williams did not rule out everything. He said one more rate hike this year may still be appropriate, and that his view on that has not changed. But his message that 2027 should not need further hikes was enough to calm traders who had been pricing in more tightening next year.

Altcoins joined the rise. Zcash led the big coins with a gain of nearly 7% to about $1,270. Solana and Dogecoin each rose about 2.5%, Ethereum added about 2% to around $2,520, and XRP, BNB and HYPE gained between 1% and 2%.

Stocks in Asia also recovered. The MSCI Asia Pacific index rose about 0.7%, and chip makers Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix snapped a five-day losing streak. Oil stayed a headwind, with Brent crude up about 0.7% to near $106 a barrel, rising for another day on Middle East tensions.

For traders, $84,000 is now the level to beat, with $85,000 the next big test above it. The next trigger is the US inflation report due Thursday. A soft reading would support Williams' view and could give Bitcoin room to push higher, while a hot reading could bring rate-hike fears back fast.
