BREAKING: Bitcoin Reclaims $84,000 as Dominance Hits 59.6% — Altcoins Bleed While Bitcoin Holds Strong
Bitcoin has pushed back above $84,000 in the latest trading hours, touching around $84,000 after a bruising week that saw it dip near $80,300. The small bounce, about 1 percent in 24 hours, comes while the total crypto market sits near $2.81 trillion and many traders stay cautious.
The bigger story is Bitcoin dominance. Bitcoin's share of the whole crypto market has climbed back to about 59.6 percent. That usually means money is moving into Bitcoin as the safer choice inside crypto, while traders cut risk in smaller coins first.
The weekly gap is clear. Bitcoin is down about 2.7 percent in seven days, but Ethereum has lost about 7.3 percent near $2,500, XRP has fallen about 7.2 percent near $1.39, and Solana has dropped about 10 percent near $109 — the weakest fall among the top ten coins. Each of those altcoins lost more than twice as much as Bitcoin.
Sentiment has not collapsed. Market reports still put trader mood in greed territory, around 61 points, even after a heavy week of ETF outflows. Many traders are reading this drop as a pause rather than a full reversal, but that view will be tested very soon.
For traders, the key levels are now simple: can Bitcoin hold above $83,000 to $84,000, with $80,000 as the first big support below? A move toward $85,000 to $87,000 would improve the mood, while a break under $80,000 would hurt it. US CPI inflation data due Wednesday is the next big test, because a hot reading could lift yields and the dollar and pressure risk assets like crypto.
