BREAKING: Optimism Explodes Nearly 20% as Layer-2 Coins Lead Crypto Rebound — Bitcoin Back Above $83,000

Optimism OP price news nearly 20 percent surge Layer-2 rebound Bitcoin above $83,000 Ethereum trading

The crypto market is bouncing back on Tuesday, and Layer-2 coins are leading the move. Sector data shows Layer-2 tokens rising about 2.9% in 24 hours, with Optimism (OP) jumping nearly 20% and zkSync (ZK) gaining about 11%.

The two biggest coins are also back in green. Bitcoin has climbed about 1.2% to move back above $83,000, while Ethereum is up about 1.9% and back above $2,500. The rebound comes after days of heavy selling and liquidations that pushed both coins to lower levels earlier this week.

The gains are spread across the market. The AI sector is up about 2.6%, DeFi is up about 1.6% with Uniswap gaining about 6%, and the PayFi sector is up about 2.3% with Zcash rising about 7.8%. Among Layer-1 coins, Injective is up nearly 12%.

Optimism's move is not just a one-day story. Separate market reporting shows OP has gained strongly over the past four weeks and has beaten both Bitcoin and Ethereum over that period, which helps explain why traders are watching Layer-2 tokens closely today.

For traders, Layer-2 coins leading a rebound is a sign that risk appetite is returning, because these smaller tokens usually move first when buyers get brave again. The key test now is simple: Bitcoin needs to hold above $83,000 and Ethereum above $2,500. If those levels break again, this rebound could fade fast, so position sizes should stay careful after such a sharp one-day jump in OP.
