BREAKING: Ripple Brings AI Agent Wallets to XRP Ledger With Stripe-Owned Privy — 14 Million Agent Payments Already Processed

XRP price news Ripple Privy AI agent wallets XRP Ledger RLUSD 14 million payments trading

Ripple has announced a new partnership with Privy, the wallet company owned by Stripe, to bring built-in programmable wallets directly to the XRP Ledger. The deal was announced on October 13 and lets developers create and manage XRP Ledger wallets inside their own apps, so users and software programs can hold and move XRP, Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin and other ledger assets without handling private keys themselves.

The big trading angle is AI agent payments. Figures shared around the launch say the XRP Ledger has already processed about 14 million payments made by AI agents, which is roughly 25% of all activity on the network. These small machine-to-machine payments use the x402 payment standard, and each new wallet account needs a minimum reserve of 1 XRP to activate.

The XRP Ledger is not a small network. It now has more than 8 million funded accounts and has moved over $1 trillion in value over more than 14 years. Privy says planned extras like spending-limit controls and gas sponsorship are still in development, so the first version focuses on wallet creation, transaction signing and payment apps for fintech and agentic commerce.

For traders, XRP was trading near $1.37 after the news, down slightly on the day and about 7% lower on the week, while daily trading volume rose from about $1.4 billion to about $1.7 billion. That mix — weak price but rising volume — shows traders are watching whether real payment activity on the ledger can turn into stronger demand for XRP itself.

The next thing to watch is usage. If more apps and AI agents start paying each other in XRP and RLUSD, ledger activity could keep growing even while the price stays quiet. But traders will want to see that activity show up in volume and price, not just in partnership headlines, before calling this a breakout story.
