BREAKING: Stacks Explodes 11% to Top the Market While Most Coins Fall — Bitcoin Staking Rush Drives STX Breakout

Stacks STX price news 11 percent surge Bitcoin staking bonding breakout trading volumeStacks (STX) is the big winner in crypto today. The coin jumped about 11% in the last 24 hours to trade near $0.43, making it the strongest mover among the top 100 coins, while the total crypto market cap fell about 2.8% to around $2.83 trillion and only 17 of the top 100 coins were in green.

The main reason behind the move is growing demand ahead of Stacks' next Bitcoin staking bonding period, which is expected to open around November 10. Traders who want staking capacity must lock up STX tokens, and that creates direct buy-and-lock demand. The previous round locked about 6.7 million STX, so a new round could again pull a large number of tokens off the open market.

The price chart is helping the story too. STX broke above the $0.405 to $0.410 resistance zone that had stopped earlier rallies, and 24-hour trading volume jumped more than 300% to near $100 million. A breakout with this kind of volume usually points to fresh money coming in, not just a small short squeeze.

The rest of the market looks much weaker. Bitcoin held near $83,600 and Ethereum traded around $2,500, while Pump.fun fell about 13%, NEAR Protocol dropped about 9% and Zcash lost about 8%. Many traders are staying careful ahead of the big US inflation report due on October 14, which could move the whole market in either direction.

For traders, the key level to watch now is the $0.405 to $0.410 zone. If STX can hold above it and turn it into support, the next target sits near $0.44. If the price falls back below $0.405, the breakout could fail and a pullback toward $0.399 becomes likely. With the wider market still nervous, careful position sizing matters more than chasing a fast green candle.
