Coinbase and Deribit Launch Six New Stock Perpetuals — Oracle, Palantir and Dell Now Trade 24/7 in USDC
Coinbase and its Deribit platform opened six new equity perpetual futures markets on October 14 at 10:00 UTC, giving traders outside the United States a new way to trade big stock names at any hour of the day or night.
The six markets cover CoreWeave (CRWV), Oracle (ORCL), Dell (DELL) and Palantir (PLTR), plus two ETF-linked contracts, SOXS and SNXX. SOXS is linked to a fund that moves opposite to chip stocks, so traders can also bet against the semiconductor sector from the same screen.
None of these contracts gives the trader real shares. They are cash-settled in USDC, so profits and losses are paid in digital dollars, and the markets stay open 24/7, even when Wall Street is closed and company news breaks overnight.
Because perpetuals never expire, regular funding payments between buyers and sellers help keep their price close to the real stock price. Some of the new markets offer leverage of up to 50 times, which means even a small move against a trader can wipe out the money posted for that trade, so position size matters more than usual.
For traders, the launch is another sign that crypto exchanges and stock trading are merging into one always-open market. US persons cannot use these particular contracts because of regulatory limits, but the direction is clear: more stock exposure is moving onto crypto rails, with round-the-clock trading as the main attraction.
